Brecon Jazz Festival Faces Funding Crisis

The Brecon Jazz Festival – one of the most important UK jazz festivals and the leading Welsh jazz festival – has sent a letter to its creditors explaining that it has suffered "a significant loss" this year and will be suspending all payments for the time being. This year’s festival experienced a lower attendance than usual partly as a result of the bad weather conditions during the event in early August.
The organisers hope to be in a position to further clarify their position at the end of the month but in the meantime the festival board said it was taking professional advice and speaking to key stakeholders to source new funding.
